This notice explains what cookies and similar technologies we use on https://regsmate.com (the “Site”), why we use them, and the choices you have. It should be read together with our Privacy Notice.

1. WHAT ARE COOKIES & SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES?

Cookies – Small text files stored in your browser or device when you visit a website.
Local / Session Storage – Browser-based data stores that can hold larger amounts of information than cookies.
Pixels / Tags – Tiny invisible images or code snippets that allow a site or third party to read/write cookies.

Cookies are either:

Session cookies – Deleted when you close the browser; or
Persistent cookies – Remain until they expire or are deleted.

2. WHY WE USE THEM

3. COOKIES WE SET

a) Strictly-Necessary (always on)

Name: cookie_consent
Provider: RegsMate™
Purpose: Stores your cookie-consent preferences.
Type / Duration: First-party, persistent, 1 year
Name: csrftoken (only if you submit a web form)
Provider: RegsMate™
Purpose: Security token to protect against cross-site-request-forgery.
Type / Duration: First-party, session

b) Analytics (only if you opt-in)

Service: Google Analytics 4
Cookies: _ga, _ga_<container-id>
Purpose: Distinguish visitors and persist session state for aggregate statistics (e.g., number of visits, most-viewed pages).
Type / Duration: Third-party, persistent, up to 2 years.

We configure Google Analytics to:

Mask the last part of IP addresses (IP anonymisation).
Disable Advertising Features and cross-site tracking.

Google acts as our processor under EU/UK Standard Contractual Clauses. See Google’s privacy policy for more details.

4. GIVING OR WITHDRAWING CONSENT

First visit: Our banner lets you Accept All, Reject All, or “Customise” which categories you allow. Analytics cookies are only dropped after a positive opt-in.
Change mind later: Click the “Cookie Settings” link in our website footer to reopen the panel and amend your choices, or clear cookies in your browser, which will make the banner reappear.

Browser controls: You can also block or delete cookies via your browser settings.
Blocking strictly-necessary cookies may break some Site functions.
Do-Not-Track: The Site does not currently respond to DNT signals; please use the banner or browser settings instead.

5. OTHER THIRD-PARTY CONTENT

Embedded content (e.g., YouTube videos) is only loaded if you click “Play” or otherwise interact, at which point the third-party provider may set its own cookies over which we have no control. You can avoid this by not activating the embedded content.

6. CHANGES TO THIS NOTICE

We may update this notice to reflect changes in technology, legislation, or our business. Any material change will be signposted on the Site and the “Last updated” date will change.
